You want the aesthetics of the place to reflect your personality or flair that matches well with its function and the image you want the public to feel and see.  This can be done with all phases from the structure to décor. But other factors will influence these choices too. Does building ‘green’ matter to you?  There are a lot of products and building practices out there that you may want to include. But do your homework! Some things called green are really not. And if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right. Check into reliable resources for sustainable or re-usable materials. Look over the specifications on the latest technologies on anything “high efficiency” or “low usage” to verify they are what they say they are. And don’t be afraid, if this is your style, to use old items in new projects. Just do the research first to know you will get the desired results and effects.

 If you are going to all the trouble to build, look at all the options and find ways to balance out your needs and  wants. Consider aspects like green-ness, efficiency, cost and  aesthetics.
